Install Cygwin to have a try. It is no help without practice.
There are some mature nightlybuild system:
 
Dart: http://public.kitware.com/Dart/HTML/Index.shtml
CRUISECONTROL: http://cruisecontrol.sourceforge.net/
 
they are intresting and also complicated.
 
I don't think unix shell programs is the best way for cross-platform build,
but what's important it works.
 
Dont waste time to talk, but practice.

       又打搅您了，不好意思，但是还是有些问题想请教您！
       您写的nightly build 程序是否就是在cygwin下写的？是否只能在unix系统下使用？cygwin只是一种提供了在windows下采用unix系统的命令行的工具吧，并非一种脚本语言，在cygwin下写代码是不是就跟在unix系统下写脚本语言一样的要求？
       您写的nightly build 程序可否在windows系统下运行？
       我在那本cvs和nightly build 的书上看到，如果在windows下实现自动构建，可以用GNU make, 其实我对这也不了解，所以问问您对此有什么看法？
       另外，您写的nightly build 程序是在cvs 服务器上还是客户端下运行的？
